COVID-19 Information
Visitation
Texas Children’s Urgent Care will allow up to two healthy parents/caregivers age 18 or older to accompany each patient to appointments.
-
To help protect our patients and staff – if at all possible – we ask that you not bring siblings, children or other visitors younger than 18 years of age. Please know we are here to care for any patient who needs us.
COVID-19 Testing
Texas Children’s Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing at all of our locations. After an assessment by your Urgent Care provider, your child may be evaluated with rapid antigen testing with immediate results and/or molecular (PCR) testing with results available within 2-3 days. Be sure to sign up for a MyChart account during your visit to view results when they are available.
If your child does not need to see a physician, you can make an appointment for COVID-19 testing. We also welcome walk-ins for the COVID-19 test.
COVID-19 Vaccines
At Texas Children’s Hospital, our commitment to the safety and well-being of our patients remains our top priority, especially during this critical time. We are proud to be your choice for care and thank you for being part of our Texas Children’s family.
Click here to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine
Texas Children’s patients who have a MyChart account do not have to schedule through the link. Instead, a COVID-19 vaccine appointment reminder will be available in the “Health Maintenance” section of their account.
At this time, the Pfizer vaccine is approved for those 5 and older, the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are approved for those 18 and older.
Pfizer and Moderna booster shots are available for individuals who are fully vaccinated and five months have passed since receiving a second dose. The Pfizer booster is available for people 12 years and older. The Moderna booster is available for ages 18 years and older.
Vaccines are not available at our Urgent Care locations. We offer them at our Medical Center Campus, our two community hospitals (West Campus and The Woodlands) and our Texas Children’s Pediatrics practices.
